Action-A-Day 1/18/18: Solicit GOP support for Net Neutrality restoration

ACTION: Call GOP members of the Senate Finance Committee’s Communications, Technology, Innovation and the Internet subcommittee 202-224-1251 to ask them to vote to reinstate net neutrality rules.

SAMPLE SCRIPT: I support "Title Two" net neutrality rules and I would like the members of this subcommittee to vote in support of the Congressional Act to reinstate net neutrality rules. We don’t need legislation, we need you to undo the harm done by the FCC in gutting the existing rules.

BACKGROUND INFO: Monday 1/15/18 Senators announced that all 47 Dems and 2 Ind, along with Rep Susan Collins of Maine, are fighting to force a vote to restore net neutrality rules by an act of Congress. Net neutrality ensures fair access to the internet content. Cable companies are famous for high prices and poor service. Several rank as the most hated companies in America. They've lobbied the FCC and Congress to end net neutrality. Why? It's simple: if they win the power to slow sites down, they can bully any site into paying millions to escape the "slow lane”. This would amount to a tax on every sector of the American economy. Every site would cost more, since they'd all have to pay big cable. Worse, it would extinguish the startups and independent voices who can't afford to pay. If we lose net neutrality, the Internet will never be the same. Attorney Generals from 22 states have filed suit against the FCC in response to the net neutrality repeal.
