Action-A-Day 7/8: Self-Care Saturday

Many of us already know how wonderful our library system is, offering thousands of items to borrow from the newest vegan cookbook to Harry Potter on audiobook and everything in between.  (Also offering the perfect space for meetings of groups both large and small.) However, even though I consider myself a library frequent flyer, I often forget to look at their calendar of upcoming events.  They have a huge variety of programs that they offer to the community, and I find the calendar to be especially full in the summer.  Here are a few of the upcoming offerings:

Join us as we build safe solar eclipse viewers, make pin art, and explore the mechanics of eclipses with Skip Bird, Outreach Director of the Westminster Astronomical Society. Observation of the sun after the program will be weather dependent. All attendees need to register.

Do you love trivia? If so, join us at New York J & P Pizza in Finksburg for an evening of showing off your useful and useless knowledge. Laugh, have fun and show how smart you really are. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Teams of up to five can sign up by registering online. Only one person per team needs to register.

Did you know that the library now offers passport services in two locations?  The North Carroll and Eldersburg branches both offer passport services and I can tell you from personal experience that they do a great job.  Look here for more information including hours and fees.
