Action-A-Day 5/6: Self-Care Saturday

ACTION: Re-visit your Resistance Self-care Plan: seek out positive news and uplifting stories that energize and inspire you.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Time to check in on your Resistance Self-care Plan.  If you’ll recall, it was shared in the Action Checklist for Americans of Conscience post during the week of 4/22: https://carrollcan.org/callstoaction/2017/4/22/action-a-day-422-self-care-saturday

One of the goals of this checklist is to eliminate physical and mental stressors and replace them with positive activities and sources that cultivate inner resourcefulness.  It may be time to clean up your Facebook page, removing people or pages from your feed that serve you no purpose other than to drain your energy.  Get rid of some of those adrenaline-inducing pages and replace them with ones that focus on positive news or uplifting stories that can motivate and invigorate you.  

With so much of the focus being on “negative” news these days, it’s easy to forget that there are a lot of good things happening around the world and victories (both big and small) that should be celebrated!  Focusing on these things is encouraging, and can help you to feel more confident, hopeful, and connected and less stressed.  For some great sites that focus on the positive check out:
