This weekend one easy way of providing self-care is to spend some time outside soaking in the sunshine. Bear Branch Nature Center Meet the Beekeeper on Saturday 10-11am, All Ages / 1 session / $5 person Join the Carroll County Beekeepers Association for an interactive, hands-on presentation on honeybees and beekeeping. Take a close look at the observation hive, discover what honeybees are doing this time of year, and learn all you need to know to start a hive of your own.
Canoe & Campfire on Saturday 7-8:30pm, 5–Adult / 1 session / $10 person Enjoy the evening paddling on Lake Hashawha; then hop out of the boat for s’mores and snacks by the campfire! Space is limited! Single paddlers will be paired with other paddlers.
Piney Run Nature Center PERENNIAL SWAP and GARDEN SALE on Sunday 1-3pm MEET behind the NATURE CENTER Join local plant lovers and novice gardeners for this spring plant exchange and garden sale. Share the bounty of our perennial and herb beds, shrubs, trees and seeds. Please label your contributions and bring along any information to share about them. If you do not have anything to share, please come as there are usually plenty of extra plants needing homes. PARK ENTRANCE FEES APPLY.
Gourd Bird House~ We hope you will join us for the garden sale and Perennial Swap and then, why not add a beautiful hand painted gourd bird house. After expanding your garden with new spring plants from the swap, please step inside the Nature Center where we will provide the gourds (cleaned and drilled), paints and brushes; you provide your artistic touch! No walk-ins, pre-registration is required to ensure we have enough supplies. 10–Adult / 1 session / $10 person
